It’s 2023, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe is as thriving as ever. This year, Marvel fans can look forward to a packed lineup of movies and TV shows that will bring plenty of drama, action, and thrills. Read on for a comprehensive guide to every Marvel movie and TV show coming out in 2023.
Movies
The first major release from the MCU this year is Thor: Love And Thunder, slated for May 6th. The fourth installment in the Thor series stars Chris Hemsworth reprising his role as the titular superhero alongside Tessa Thompson and Natalie Portman. Not much is known about the plot yet, but it will likely involve some combination of science fiction, supernatural elements, and Thor’s ongoing rivalry with Loki (Tom Hiddleston).
The next big movie on the schedule is Captain Marvel 2 which releases on July 8th. Brie Larson returns as the eponymous hero alongside Teyonah Parris who will take on a more prominent role this time around. Production began in early January 2021 so details are still under wraps but it’s expected to be just as exciting as its predecessor was when it released in 2019.
Lastly, there’s Black Panther 2 which comes out November 5th. Just like Captain Marvel 2 not much is known about this one yet either but it does mark the return of Chadwick Boseman in his iconic role of T’Challa/Black Panther which should be enough to get fans excited for what promises to be an epic sequel.
TV Shows
Marvel has been no slouch when it comes to their television offerings either with several new shows set to debut later this year. One of these is Hawkeye which features Jeremy Renner returning as Clint Barton/Hawkeye alongside Hailee Steinfeld who plays Kate Bishop—the character who eventually takes up Hawkeye’s mantle after him—and Vera Farmiga who portrays their mentor-mentee relationship dynamic with great poise. The show releases sometime during fall 2021 so stay tuned for further updates!
And that’s not all; there are also several other TV shows currently in production such as She-Hulk starring Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black) and Iman Vellani (Ms Marvel). It follows Jennifer Walters (Maslany), a lawyer whose life changes after being exposed to gamma radiation that gives her superhuman powers including increased strength and durability—perfect for taking down villains both legal and otherwise!
